“FINDING THE RIGHT PATH”

Then He said to them all, “If anyone wants to come with me, he must deny

himself, take up his cross and follow me.”

Have you ever wondered if you were following the correct path? And when you read the Bible, do you fully understand what is expected of you? When we genuinely turn our hearts toward the face of God, we will feel a sense that He is inviting us to walk with Him. That is precisely the path that we must follow. Therefore, in “taking up your cross” Jesus presents a challenging description of the Christian Life. Being His disciple means putting aside selfish desires, and shouldering one’s own cross and following Him.

It requires ur recommitment to serve Him each day and it is demanding. For the 12 Disciples this means literal suffering even unto death. For believers today it could mean the same, possibly for the beliefs that we hold in God and His Word. We must understand that we belong to Him, and we are here to serve His purposes. Consider this: Do you think of your relationship with God primarily of what is in it for you or in terms of what you can do for Him? Are you willing to “take up your cross daily and follow Him?” Anything less is not discipleship; it’s merely superficial lip service. (Act. 14:27)

When we behave ourselves as faithful servants, we honor the Father and the Son because we are being led by the Holy Spirit. When we live righteously and according to God’s commandments, He blesses us in ways that we cannot fully understand. So, as you step out on your journey today let God be your traveling companion. To find the right path, study His Holy Word. Follow His commandments. Support only those activities that further God’s kingdom and your spiritual growth. Be the best example of righteous living that you can be, before your family, friends and the world. Then reap the blessings that God has promised to all those who accept His invitation of life abundantly and eternally.

The Lord knows that sometimes life will be dificult, that’s why He wants us to trust His heart when we cannot see any hope for the future, and to know that He is always with us. We will know that His path will lead to accomplish what he has purposed for us to do. Where He leads, let us follow! Amen!
