In a world of misinformation, disinformation, and conspiracy theories, the truth is not always obvious. The lies are often so much louder, more insistent, and definitely more abrasive. Maybe it’s easier and more profitable to deal in lies for those who concentrate on power. But the truth remains more importantly in Jesus’ reign.
Although the peaceful kingdom may look like an impossible dream to the arrogant, those who rely solely on themselves and who live in denial of the truth. They may see the world through their own lens. But God sees the potential to live in hope, peace, love, and joy. He reveals his promise. “Indeed, God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” (John 3:17). God sent his Son among rugged surroundings, that brought focus to the Christ coming into a broken world. This image is already a place of creation joining with God in his divine revelation.
The Advent of Hope, Peace, Love, and Joy is the completeness in preparation for Jesus’ arrival, meaning the Second Coming. This is the time now, coming bound together in the fabric of unity leaning on the promise of God. Let’s participate in the journey together. If ever there is a time, it is now—to make every effort to worship together. It is important because it serves as a central expression of our relationship with God. Our worship experience allows us to acknowledge God’s greatness in our praise and gratitude, and in the process we deepen our connection with Him through acts of devotion, and ultimately we increase our personal and spiritual growth; realizing a sense of God’s purposeful plan. Worshipping together can also provide a sense of community and belonging. This is Jesus’ love we share.
When we love our neighbors as ourselves, when we do justice, express compassion because in our walk with God, we care for the afflicted and stand up for the oppressed, then we abide in truth and count ourselves citizens of Jesus’ unique kingdom. Through God’s infinite love; he holds you, walks with you, and offers you a way for true healing and a chance to reconcile with community. Christ forgives and heals. He knows every tragedy, every anxiety, every rough edge, and every loss. He bears the sin, and he bears the pain. We do not need to question where God is because he is always available. God is in the center of it all.
The true glory of God is His willingness to bring us into his divine preparation. In the chaos of this world, in the tumult of life, in the brokenness we feel, he came into our broken world. He came to participate in us. He came in Hope, Peace, Love, and Joy.
AMEN.
