“PAUSE FOR THE CAUSE”

2 CORINTHIANS 4:16-18 NLT

“So, we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen.”

When your season feels heavy, weary, lonely, or with uncertainty and questions without easy answers, take time to pause for the cause. Pause in Jesus’ splender, his glorious splendor in your season. God invites you to go through this season with him, to bring wholeness into your faith. “For your present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!” (2 Corinthians 4:17). This is why we never give up. We do not have it all figured out; pause to remain anchored in God. Pause in God’s unwavering presence and provision. Pause in His love and guidance because God’s presence is in all seasons, actively working in every phase of your life.

Whatever we carry from the year behind us–joy or sorrow, gratitude or weariness–we place it in God’s hands and trust Him for what is to come,” encourages us to bring every part of our past experiences–whether positive or negative–before God. It means not holding onto burdens, regrets, or even our successes, but instead entrusting them to God’s care. This act of surrender is an expression of faith, acknowledging that God is both capable and willing to carry what we cannot and to guide us into the future.

Jeremiah29:11–“For I know the plans I have for you, ‘declares the Lord, ‘plans to give you hope and a future”–serves as a reassurance that God’s intentions for us are good; He has a purposeful plan that brings hope, even when our circumstances feel uncertain. The verse is often cited as a promise that, no matter what we have experienced, God is actively working for our good and is invested in our future.

May our season be one where we walk forward with renewed hope, grounded in Christ, and confident that God is still writing a story filled with grace, ” is a prayerful power for any season. It calls us to move ahead with fresh optimism, rooted in faith in Jesus Christ, and to trust that God continues to shape our lives with grace and mercy. Even if the road ahead is unknown, we can be confident that God’s love and guidance remain constant, and that He is present in every season, writing new chapters of blessing and growth. Altogether, these words invite us to let go of what weighs us down from the past, to trust in God’s promises for the future, and to pause into the cause with faith, hope, and assurance in God’s ongoing work in our lives. Amen.
