Trust in God’s timing and strength, even in difficult times, and to remain steadfast in faith, knowing God will ultimately provide strength and support. Our connectedness with each other is a calling for us to love one another. It is in this spirit that we wait. Waiting emphasizes an intransitive feel. The reason is hard to answer because it requires personal trust — “let your heart take courage, wait for the Lord. Circumstances are not measureable. Wait — for those who are sick to recover. Wait — for a recovered economy. Wait — for a paycheck once again. Waiting to return to normalcy again and maybe it wasn’t a great place but it might be better than current challenges. WAIT!
Waiting demands substance, quality of importance, a solid basis in reality, which may cause somebody to want deliverance and may be from themselves. Waiting for a solution to the incapable explanation. Waiting for deliverance from vulnerability to a reality of a natural course — and from death — but even more from that vulnerability of self-interest that exerts patience, trust and reliance on God’s guidance and God’s own timing, rather than rushing into action or worrying about self-interest outcomes.
“Be of good courage,” meaning leaning on God, embracing the Spirit of God who has the power to give strength, bravery and an attitude of confidence, even when we face uncertain challenges. And this means waiting on the Lord is not passiive, but an active state of faith and trust, which leads to inner strength and courage.
The command to wait for the Lord is a powerful reminder that God is ultimately in control, and where strength and peace are available by trusting in Him, even amidst difficulties. Whatever your various situations in life are, be encouraged to trust in God’s plan, even when you don’t understand it, and to remain strong and courageous in your faith. In our various situations in life, be confident, wait for the Lord and to trust in God’s plan, even when we don’t understand it, and to mature stronger and courageous in our faith.
Foregiveness, Grace, Hope and everlasting life await for those who earnestly turn to God. May your life reflect the command of Christ “to go and sin no more!” Therefore, and discover the beauty within the darkness of lent that by Jesus Christ dying on the cross we know hope. He has made our ability to wait on the Lord conquering sin real and obtainable. Live according to God’s purpose. Live for God’s plan. Wait!
Begin this Holy Week waiting, with hope that demands substance, pray in waiting. Wait for the LORD; be strong and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!
Amen.
